After two years of Covid-19 pandemic, lock-downs, face masks on and off, we are finally able to make a trip abroad again. In the meantime the UK left the EU, so it’s definitely travelling “abroad”. A party of friends is the first goal of the trip. We left home and the cats in good hands, and drove to Dunkirk. The instructions to arrive at the ferry, at least two hours before departure time worked out well: we were allowed to take one passage earlier! Arriving at 3pm local time, in Dover, instead of 5pm! We saw the White Cliffs and yes, they are impressive.

After disembarking we drive up to Borough Green, Seven Oaks, to catch up with the F. and S. clans. It felt good to be all together after years! We had refreshments and a lovely Turkish dinner, and then drove off to Hononton Cottage B&B, where we were welcomed by Simon and Sandie. The 400 year old cottage, in the middle of vineyards and orchards, is a perfect place to relax! We did our daily walk in the evening, had a “cuppa”, and were in bed early.
