AM Grey, grey, grey, and after a while rain, lots of rain. From the Smuggler’s Inn we travel into the direction of Sneem, the most colourful village of Ireland, where we drink coffee. The houses represent all the colours of the rainbow, and, whether you like it or not, it is for sure attracting tourists!
Grijs, grijs, grijs en na verloop van tijd regen, veel regen. Vanuit de Smuggler’s Inn vertrekken we richting Sneem, het kleurrijkste dorp van Ierland, waar we koffie drinken. Zeer veel kleurige huizen, maar je trekt er wel bussen vol toeristen mee.
In Kenmare, we make a stop to look at the local Stone Circle. A busload of Italians has just arrived, so we have to be patient before we can make that very special picture…
In Kenmare stoppen we om de lokale Druidencirkel te bekijken. Er is net een bus Italianen losgelaten, dus moeten we even geduld hebben voor we dat ene plaatje kunnen maken…
In Ballylickey we stay a night in the Seaview House Hotel, a fancy mansion (without seaview: there were trees planted…). Hotel’s furniture is all antiques, including the beds (which are as a result short!).
In Ballylickey logeren we een nachtje in Seaview House Hotel, een chique landhuis (zonder seaview: er zijn bomen voor geplant….). Het hotel is volledig antiek ingericht, inclusief de bedden.

Ballylickey is a very small village, nothing much to do, we couldn’t even find a pub! Off to Bantry, where we stroll around a bit. Near the harbour a very nice statue of Brandon the Navigator. We have dinner in the bar of Barras Hotel (sea food chowder, cabbage & bacon / oriental chicken).
Ballylickey stel niet zoveel voor, er is zelfs geen pub! Dus rijden we naar Bantry waar we rondwandelen.Op het plein bij de haven een fraai standbeeld van Brandon the Navigator. We eten in de bar van Barras Hotel (sea food chowder, cabbage & bacon / oriental chicken).
