AM Early breakfast, we plan to take the 10 o’clock ferry from Tarbert to Killimer. After the boatride we drive to Ennis, a lively little city where we enjoy a cup of coffee at Budrahn’s. Next stop is Ennistymon – when we come closer we have a view of the Celtic graveyeard, with the typical crosses on a hill, overlooking the houses of the village. We have lunch at the cascades and walk up the hill to visit the cemetery.
Bijtijds op om de 10 uur ferry van Tarbert naar Killimer te halen. Na het boottochtje rijden we door naar Ennis, een levendig stadje waar we koffie drinken bij Budrahn’s. Dan naar Ennistymon, als we het stadje naderen zien we boven op de heuvel een Keltisch kerkhof. We picknicken bij de cascades en wandelen dan naar boven om het kerkhof te bezoeken.
In Lahinch, we stay in Auburn House, in ‘a room with a view’. We walk along the boulevard, and relax in the sun and watch the changing tide. Lahinch is a nice village on the coast. We have dinner at Mrs. O’Brien’s Kitchen (Beef casserole, Guinness and chocolate pie) and write soms cards for the family back home.
In Lahinch logeren we in Auburn House, in ‘a room with a view’. We wandelen naar de boulevard waar we lekker in de zon luieren en nar het opkomende water kijken. Lahinch is een gezellig badplaatsje. We eten bij Mrs. O’Brien’s Kitchen (Beef casserole, Guinness en chocoladetaart), en schrijven wat kaarten.
In the evening we drive up to the Cliffs of Moher – during daytime crowded, but in the evening nice and quiet (plus: parking is free in the evening).
‘s Avonds rijden we naar de Cliffs of Moher – overdag zijn die overbevolkt met toeristen, maar in de avond lekker rustig (en bijkomend voordeel: gratis parkeren!)
