From Pittsburgh we travel further to Addison where we have booked a room in the Hartzell House B&B. After a warm welcome and dropping our bags in the Traveler’s room, our host lit the fire in the large fireplace and poured us a glass of wine. The fun was short-lived. After a few minutes, we …
Back to the Pitt
After a visit to the annual NMDP Council Meeting in Minneapolis, it’s time to relax. We travel to Pittsburgh, for another visit to Chez Bev. October is the month of colours in Pennsylvania. It is said that there are 128 different kinds of trees, with 128 different colours. We’ve experienced the colours before. October is …
New York, New York
Our first visit to the Big Apple! A business trip (visiting the the New York Cord Blood Bank), with some time to visit the highlights. We were ‘On Top of the Rock’, greeted Miss Liberty, walked Broadway, Wall Street and enjoyed Central Park. Enough to experience the vibrance of the city!
Home again
We are back home! The return flight uneventful, except for a little delay when leaving from London. The plane from Toronto to London was half empty! And what we had never seen before, is that somewhere over the Atlantic ocean, we were passing a plane from Virgin Airlines! What a nice surprise that AM’s parents …
Sigh…
That’s it… The holidays are over. Today, after another delicious breakfast from Geoffrey, will be our final day in Canada – for this trip anyway. We are packing our final things and are walking over to Eaton Centre for the last few gifts for the home front. Then slowly but surely off to the airport, …

Ticonderoga
Unfortunately, today, May 28th, it is still raining……and so after breakfast we travel towards Ticonderoga, to visit the fort on the small strip of land between Lake Champlain and Lake George. From 1754 -1764, French and British troops have fought here, claiming the ‘new land’, with or without the help of Indian tribes. The fort …

After breakfast we drive towards Blue Mountain Lake to visit the Adirondack Museum. The collection of boats, coaches, a train and tools is impressive. We enjoy the exhibition, and visit the …

On May 26th, 7:14 a.m., we leave Binghamton and start our trip to the Adirondacks. The weather is nice and sunny, not too hot, and it is still quiet on the road. We stop in Lake George to visit the factory outlet of famous brands (everything on sale!). We continue our trip to Aunt Polly’s …
Binghamton, second chance / in de herkansing
Even on Memorial Day nothing whatsoever happens in Binghamton… There is no parade, everything closed down, no one in the streets, welcome to Ghost Town… But we need at least something to eat. After a walk around town, to see if indeed everything is closed, we end up back in the hotel lobby, where Wayne …
